IFFIm

Our work on behalf of the International Finance Facility for Immunisation (IFFIm) focuses on telling the story of how this pioneering socially responsible investment (SRI) has shaped the social bond market and has provided investors with a trusted, award-winning investment in global health that also provides more health for the money.

What is IFFIm?

IFFIm has long been a unique and innovative model of public-private financing for social good. However, its visibility online, on social media and through its web presence did not match its prestigious reputation among global health insiders. IFFIm has in fact received numerous awards and accolades for its brilliant financial mechanism which has provided billions of dollars for vaccine programs. IFFIm’s partnership with donor countries, private investors, the World Bank and Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance makes it possible to raise large amounts of money upfront to support life-saving vaccine programs in the world’s poorest countries.

Following and regularly updating a thoughtful long-term communications plan, we show and tell IFFIm’s importance to global health. Stories, both visual, video, posts and media coverage, develop the brand over time with accumulated and varied content that demonstrates IFFIm’s value to its investors, partners and donors.

Funding vaccines

A mainstay of telling IFFIm’s story: connecting the dots between Vaccine Bonds and saving children’s lives. Vaccines continue to be the world’s most universal, cost-effective health intervention. There is great demand for vaccines, because they work and have demonstrated value to saving lives and saving on healthcare costs. In poor countries, for every dollar spent on immunisation, $18 are saved in healthcare costs, lost wages and lost productivity due to illness.

Vaccine Bonds

Our custom-designed content and writing is helping IFFIm command the Vaccine Bond brand in a market increasingly crowded with SRI options. Along with writing content and producing social media, video and conference marketing materials, we place IFFIm’s story in media outlets from the Wall Street Journal to Cheddar TV.

IFFIm’s Helge Weiner-Trapness explains how IFFIm finances vaccines through its unique frontloading mechanism.

What have we learned? For one, writing currencies and spelling UK style. But the big takeaway comes from socially responsible investors. People and institutions who choose SRIs like Vaccine Bonds want to invest in more than returns. They want to invest in a great story. Saving millions of lives and helping children survive and thrive is a great story– and one with with a solid rate of return.
